Gema Galán is a visual artist and photographer whose work investigates transformation, impermanence, and the fluid relationship between humans and the natural world. Working primarily with experimental and analogue techniques, she embraces unpredictability in process and outcome to explore the intersections between ecology and identity. Her practice incorporates chance, material decay, and organic elements to examine how images can embody states of change and vulnerability. Often developed through direct engagement with the environment, her work reveals the tensions between control and surrender, permanence and fragility. Grounded in observation and sensitivity to materials, she constructs visual spaces that invite reflection on time, memory, and the interconnectedness of ecological and emotional landscapes
